Blooming & Bombing

April began with action is ending with indecision. I have auditioned, cold emailed, networked, and even wrote and recorded my very own ads. Thus far, I have little to show for it. But little is still more than nothing. I have brainstormed with a fellow and well reputed VO artist and been advised on how to make the most of AI and its respective platforms for strengthening my VO and business management.
With that and Q2 ending in 2 months in mind and my efforts to meet my big goal of landing a commercial gig must be amped up if it is to be met. Again being paid for it rather than paying for one was the idea, however, I’m contemplating having the success of broadcasting my own ad as a compromise to marking that goal as being met; and that can make another variety of win. My own ad has not come to fruition just yet as pricing discussions with the lovely folks at TMJ4 and the folks I am sure are indeed lovely at I have yet to converse with and determine how my budget aligns with their pricing WUWM, but I trust I will hear from them. What’s more important in my mind at this moment where I am try to remember that the little steps are in fact great and significant in comparison to no steps is that I made the ad, I emailed the station(s), I talked with a marketing manager, and I gained new insights. I learned where one of the budgetary benchmarks is. That is progress, that is a win.

The question of the number of auditions versus plain ol’ marketing tactics and which is more impactful still lingers, at least in the case of Crocodilian Audio. A podcast script still slowly progresses. I have to teach myself a lot of the subject matter as I go which means I not only need the time to type, but first to research. But one day, lol, it’ll happen.

It will all happen. So mote it be!
